The big decision is made. What happens next?

A company buys a business, splits one up, or changes direction. What happens once the decision becomes part of everyday work?

Holding Change Together

Dave’s doctoral research at the University of Wollongong asks what happens after a company makes a big strategic move. He follows what people and businesses still need to do together: who is responsible, what depends on what, and what needs attention as the strategy takes shape.

The study follows 21 event-centred cases through public-company records, from the year before an event to three reporting periods afterwards.

What changes when we hand work to AI?

At Poko, Dave is exploring the human–AI handover: what people delegate, what they keep thinking through, and how the combined system can become more capable.

That includes judgement, checking an answer, learning from the work, and keeping responsibility clear. It is a separate line of practical inquiry from the doctoral study.
